Eleven Months Later
Altadena, CA. Nearly a year after the Eaton Fire carved its way through the foothills, the town is still living in its shadow. Eleven months sounds like enough time for life to snap back into place, but for many families, the calendar doesn’t match reality. People are still scattered across borrowed bedrooms, spare couches, and motel rooms that were never meant to be home. Entire neighborhoods feel like they’re holding their breath.

A wig closet full of biohazards
Dear Uncle Gary, I’ve just stepped into a national tour as the second hair supervisor, replacing someone who bailed for another gig. It’s been one week, and already I’m caught between two camps. Those who can’t stand the lead supervisor, and the few who swear by her. The show’s been on the road for six months, and not a single wig has been washed, despite Equity rules requiring weekly maintenance.
